This week we used a Domino Parking Lot for counting and identifying numbers. The students had to count to numbers on the dominoes then determine where to "park" it on the sheet! Here are some pictures of our learning below.
More Numbers!!!! Here we used a playdoh mat to identify numbers, We also had to fill the ten frame with the correct amount of playdoh balls to make the number!
We learned about how we are alike and different. With this, I decided to do a family glyph We could then see the differences we all saw in our families. I let the students draw their houses and share on the carpet. (Idea from
Chalk Talk, although hers looks WAY better than ours, better planning next time :/ )
Our focus letter was Oo. I think this one may have stuck in everyone's head!! After rotations on Friday we came back to the classroom for a surprise Octopus Oo Snack! (Hot dogs cut to have 8 legs. Well most of them. Some were in a terrible accident and lost limbs... Oops! Kids didn't seem to notice though.) Have you ever tried to cut 20 hot dogs into octopuses?? Not an easy task I tell ya!
I love AA's (orange shirt) face in this picture, I asked them what sound does the Oo make?! :)
Yummy!! It was great ending to our week!
Friday night a fabulous cold front blew in just in time for our town Freedom Parade on Saturday. This parade is a march down Main Street (we are a small town, it's allowed! haha) in memory and honor of those who were lost on September 11, 2001 and who fight for our Freedoms. I only found one student that was mine there! Thanks for coming sweet girl!
